Bhavana Reddy, younger daughter and disciple of legendary dancing couple Padmabhushans Drs. Raja Radha Reddy and Kaushalya Reddy, is one of India’s leading young Kuchipudi performers and torchbearer of the Reddy tradition. As such Bhavana has been mentioned in scholarly works on Kuchipudi Indian classical dance by Senior Critic and Scholar Dr. Sunil Kothari, veteran performing arts photographer Shri Avinash Pasricha, Coveted Author and Critic, (The Guardian, The Times of India, Independent UK, The Dancing Times London) Reginald Massey.

She is the recipient of the Central Government Sangeet Natak Akademi’s Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar, highest honor for the Indian performing artist under the age of 40. She has received  Lifetime Achievement Award for Contribution to Kuchipudi Dance by Telugu Cultural Association, Houston Texas, FICCI Young Women Achievers Award, Femina North Powerlist Award to name a few. 

Since the tender age of four, she has completely dedicated herself to the sacred art form of India (Kuchipudi classical dance style). In her performance career spanning over two decades, Bhavana has toured USA, Europe, South East Asia and United Arab Emirates multiple times playing lead roles in their family shows such Prahlada in Prahlada Charitam at the age of 7, Krishna in Krishna Leela Tarangini age 6 onwards, Shandilya in Bhagvadajjukyam 2016, Satyabhama in Bhamakalapam 2011 and so on. She has performed for prestigious events and dance festivals such as the Sadlers Wells Festival London, Namaste India in Paris and Liechtenstein, Khajuraho Dance Festival, Elephanta Festival, Konark Festival, Bhaskar Rao Sangeet Sammelan as a the youngest child artist, etc.

Ms Reddy has given exclusive Kuchipudi performances for several prestigious personalities, diplomats, Presidents, Prime Ministers and Royal families of the world such as the Prince of Whales, Ivanka Trump, Putin, Mr. Narendra Modi, Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Pt. Ravi Shankar, to name a few.

Bhavana is a constant public figure in the Performing Arts Scene of India and has been reviewed, interviewed and featured by near about every National and regional media of India including TV documentaries on Reddy family and solo on BBC, Doordarshan, interviews on NDTV, Star TV, Sahara Samay, NewX, ETV, Vanitha TV, CNN-IBN 7. She was invited by Hello! India as the only Debutante from the performing arts world for the first ever Ball in Mumbai India alongside business tycoons, filmmakers alike. She is regularly featured in top magazines and newspapers - The Hindu, The Hindustan Times, The Times of India, The Punjab Kesari, Deccan Chronicle, India Today Magazine, Femina Magazine, The Week Magazine, and regional publications. She has also appeared in major publications New York Times, Arab Times, The New Yorker, San Francisco Chronicle, Tribuno Do Brasil to name a few.

In her recent performances, Bhavana gave solo performances for Hon’ble Vice President of India Shri Venkaiah Naidu, The Election Commission of India and high delegates from 70 countries for the Lok Sabha Elections 2019. She was invited to USA to perform at the prestigious Kennedy Centre, Washington for Ambassador Shri Navtej Sarna, diplomats from neighboring countries & Foreign Minister Shri Vinod Gokhale, Drive East Festivals in NY and SF, as well as performances for the High Commissioners of Singapore, Malaysia and Jakarta. She performed for the Ambassador Shri Ajit Gupte in Denmark for a show organized by Air India.

Bhavana is an empanelled artist with India’s esteemed ICCR and Doordarshan panels. She is on the board of directors and serves as a faculty member of Natya Tarangini, a premiere Performing Arts Institution in Delhi situated on a land gifted by the Government of India. The institute was founded in 1976 by Raja Radha Reddy and Kaushalya Reddy.
