October 17, 2020

Natya Tarangini and Dr.s Raja Radha Reddy and Kaushalya Reddy have been organizing the Parampara Series - National Festival of Music & Dance uninterrupted for the past 23 years.  Parampara Series is one of the first festivals of its kind started in the Indian capital in 1997 showcasing a spectacular bouquet of classical dance and music performances, featuring not only the budding artists but also legendary artists & maestros of Indian music & dance such as Pt. Hari Prasad Chaurasia, Kishori Amonkar, Bala Murali Krishna, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma, Parveen Sultana, Vyjayanthimala Bali, Kelucharan Mahopatra, Pt. Birju Maharaj,  Shubha Mudgal, Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Hariharan, Alarmel Valli, Mrinalini, Kumidini Lakhia, Astad Deboo.

~ New for the India Dance Festival: Storytelling & dance by Bhavana Reddy with live Q&A ~

Kuchipudi exponent Bhavana Reddy tells & performs "Bhama Kalapam", a dance drama inspired on Hindu literature. It's a classic that every Kuchipudi dancer must have danced at least once. Central heroine is Satyabhama, one of Krishna’s consorts, who struggles with the fact that he has several wives. She wants him exclusively for herself and is unapologetically outspoken about this. Bhavana tells us this story and illustrates this with excerpts of her dance production.
